 photo unnamed_zpsdxwzwh2i.jpg
In a second adventure they travel towards the unknown art of Mesopotamia. This time they won´t go alone. The sympathetic and intelligent Angela will travel to the past with them bringing her particular point of view.
My Summer Babe and I both rated this book 4 ****'s What a fun and educational travel while learning art
I have no doubt that my Summer Babe will enjoy reading this book. She loves art and reading this story entertains her at the same time learned more about art and its history. I saw her smiling while flipping the pages. She founds the illustration very funny. David and Master Messina is very interesting characters. Their journey is so much fun between these two and Angela joined the adventure as well.
 photo David A_zpsfgcmeeve.jpg
We both liked the story. At first she did not like the story because she taught it is about religion but as she read along, she is having a great time learning David and its; adventures. Though she has a hard time reading some of the places in the story. It did not stop her from finishing the book. There is so much to enjoy about the book from art history, animals at the same time exploring places that are very popular to the tourist.
 photo David_zps0fu0yoly.jpg
If your kids  love art like my Summer Babe, am sure they will laugh at David's adventure at the same time learning the history of art during the past.  David's art teacher looks very funny but at the same he is very entertaining. No doubt David had the best time learning how art is done during the past like my Summer Babe  while reading this book. This book could make a great Christmas gift for your art enthusiast and loves to read.

Mama’s Knight: A Cancer Story of Love Book by Aurora Whittet

Once upon a time . . . It’s how all heroes begin their story, and you’re a hero, too! Your mama has cancer, and it’s a scary journey, but you can help your mama just by being you—special, wonderful, YOU. Your mama loves you just the way you are. You are your mama’s knight.
 photo Mamas Knight B_zps6iqfseye.jpg
Mama’s Knight: A Cancer Story of Love is an emotional toolbox that can help kids and parents communicate about what it means for Mama to have cancer. My Mama and I rated this book 5 warrior stars A short story that is fun, wide-opening and emotional
My Mama and I both loved reading this book. I know that other kids will also love reading it too. First the illustrations or drawings looked so artistic and beautiful. It is full of fun activities that families can enjoy creating memories and have fun. There are helpful links for you and your kids to check and follow. My Mama and I both loved everything about the book. It is wide-opening when cancer happened to one of your families or relatives. It is very emotional and my Mama cried reading the book especially on the last page.
 photo Mamas Knight D_zps7bk4swvp.jpg
My Mama told me that she wishes she read this book before and brought to the Philippines with us when we had our vacation. My Aunt J had a breast cancer. I know that it will help my cousins understand when my Aunt J is dealing with cancer before. I know that it will be easy for my cousins to understand and very helpful when I read and shared this book to them. Definitely, we will bring this book with on our next vacation to the Philippines.
 photo Mamas Knight E_zpsfjvsfdn1.jpg
My Mama said there is no cure about cancer yet but there is prevention. My Mama said one is by going to the doctor regularly for a check-up. I know that my Mama is afraid to go to her mammogram but she said she will face her fear and brave for us to stay healthy. I know cancer is deadly but reading this book will help you and your kids create memories that will last a lifetime.
My Mama thinks that this is the best book we both read on how to deal with cancer. We  both recommend it to every kids especially if there Mama or relatives is dealing with the same health problems.

What made you write a book about Cancer?
I lost my mom in 2013 to uterine cancer and losing her as an adult was hard enough. I still can’t fathom a world without her in it and it has been three years. Then my friend Tyson was diagnosed with Brain Cancer and she had two little boys at home. She told me there were tons of books for certain cancers, but none for hers. So I took my grief and I wrote a customizable children’s book that can help any mom, with any cancer explain the journey to her children, so Mama’s Knight was born!
What is your next project?
I am currently writing the daddy version of Mama’s Knight, because daddies get cancer too. As well as I am writing a new young adult novel that will publish in 2017. It is fun doing a children’s picture book and a novel at the same time.

In today’s tech savvy world, most writers use a computer or laptop. Have you ever written parts of your book on paper?

I wrote this entire book on paper many, many times before it made it to the computer. I had sketches of each spread of the book so I could truly map out the story. Once I felt happy with it I scanned the sketches and typed the words so I could share it with my editor. This book truly came to life on paper.

What’s the funniest thing that ever happened to you?

My son is four, and he thinks he is quite clever. One day we were at the store picking up a prescription, when he loudly and boldly announces to her and frankly everyone within a mile, “mama farted.” Which please note, I didn’t. So I say, “I farted?” He smiles and responds “Yep in that aisle.” He points to an aisle we never even went down. Now there is no way to get out of this. The pharmacist is already laughing, even if I tell the truth that I didn’t fart, it just looks like I’m lying. So I laughed and said “Oh I see, and what do we say when we fart?” He smiled and says, “excuse me.” Children are so embarrassing, but cute.
If you could go back in time, where would you go?
I would go back to the moment my mom was first diagnosed with cancer, to that seafoam green hospital room, and I would say, “mom lets go on vacation.” And I would have put our trip on my credit card and took her somewhere fun before the illness and the medicine made her too weak to travel.

Author interview #1 Paulette Bogan

Where do you write, illustrate?
My favorite place to work is upstairs in my studio with my two dogs keeping me company, a Starbucks latte, and some music playing, loudly! If I’m writing I listen to classical music. If I’m drawing, definitely rock. (I’m a big Neil Young fan.)

Do you write everyday?
No, but I think everyday. Maybe more like daydreaming. (I try to write anything interesting down or do a quick sketch, usually on a post-it. There are post-its everywhere in my life!)

In today’s tech savvy world, most writers use a computer or a laptop. Have you ever written parts of your book on paper?
I ALWAYS start on a legal yellow pad, never on the computer. I do several drafts on paper with lots of scribbly sketches along the margins. I use the computer as another step in the creative process. However, I always end up printing my manuscript in order to edit. I edit again, and again, and again always on paper… I guess that makes me old school… or maybe just old!

What is your writing schedule?
I don’t have a real set schedule except I am useless in the morning as far as drawing or writing! Mornings are for exercise, chores, or my favorite – going back to bed! After noon I am much more creative. I will spend the afternoon in my studio drawing, writing, or procrastinating. (Sometimes my best ideas come when I am procrastinating!)

What made you write a book about a bossy girl?
I’m bossy. Always have been. But most importantly, I am the boss of me! Flossy is a little girl who is very bossy and doesn’t understand why no one will listen to her. Eventually after getting bossed around herself, Flossy starts to learn how to channel her bossiness in a positive way. She learns how to be effective not offensive. She learns to express herself so she is heard and not tuned out. She learns how to be the boss of herself.

Tell us an interesting fact about Bossy Flossy.
Bossy Flossy is the first picture book I’ve done in which the main character is human, not animal. Illustrating a book with human characters instead of animals was on my “to do” list. I don’t really have a bucket list, but I have many “to do” lists.

You said you are a big Neil Young fan. What’s your favorite song? Angie by The Rolling Stones. Sorry, Neil. Heart of Gold - my number two song.

She is stuck with number 89 the moment I took this photo of her. She has six more coming in her way. The three are on her birthday list. I found three more that will added as her birthday gifts.

She loves to play her beanie boos by the living room with her big brother. I am so glad that the dogs do not take one and chew the beanie boo. They know that they will be in trouble by their big sister. I filed up all her beanie boos that were all scattered by the carpet. I made a big and small heart. I also asked her to go inside the heart and will took photo of her.

Loving Emmi Book By Barbara Boswell Brunner

And the Dog-Ma saga continues...

In this highly anticipated sequel to the best-selling Dog-Ma, The Zen of Slobber, Izzy, the feisty and ferocious terrier, has lost her eyesight. Following on the heels of this devastating loss, her arch-rival Morgan - a gentle giant of a Rottweiler - suddenly succumbs to cancer. Finding herself a lonely-only, it's not long before Izzy finds herself nose-to-nose with her humans' new pet project: a foster Rottie pup also named Morgan. Quickly renamed Emmi to avoid confusion (and the wrath of Izzy,) it was to be the beginning of a journey unlike any other.

Severely injured as a newborn, Emmi—affectionately known to her fast-growing online fan base as Baby Morgan the Broken Jaw Puppy—is hanging onto life by a thread. Living with a crushed jaw that has left her unable to open her mouth to eat or drink, the prognosis is grim. Baby Morgan is starving to death. Having rescued her from a horrific life, her parents spring into all-out desperation mode to find her the best lifesaving medical care. Despite the advice of veterinary professionals to euthanize, her parents are determined to save her at all costs. Taking to the Internet, they rally a huge online community of dog lovers who quickly become their second family. It does not take long for Emmi's sheer determination and ferocious will to live to take hold.

This is Emmi's miracle. A story of hope, inspiration and triumph in the face of adversity.

Our furry girls Maggie and Molly rated Loving Emmi 5 paws *****'s

Emmi will break your heart at the same time fall in-love with her

The title itself is what you learned while reading this book. It is the most emotional animal book I ever read. No wonder my Summer Babe let me finish reading the book because she gets so emotional. She feel bad for Emmi and the other dogs because of her health conditions.
photo Loving Emmi with my Summer Babe_zpsdioqmznp.jpg

I finished Loving Emmi within a day after reading it. I cried so many times while reading this book. Emmi will break your heart at the same time fall in-love with her. She is one very special dog. My hats off to her human Mom, Dad and furry sister Izzy for their unconditional love.My hats off also to all her doctors, caretaker and especially her Aunt Connie. My hats off also to all the people who donated to make Emmi lived longer and enjoy life.
photo Loving Emmi with Maggie and Molly_zpsqk3vxb3s.jpg

This book will teach you to learn your furry dogs even better unconditionally. To our Maggie(the Pitbull) and Molly(the rat terrier) we loved you even more girls. Thank you for showing us your unconditional love too.

This book is so emotional. It shows hope and unconditional love for our furry animals. It taught us not to give up, keep on fighting when life is at the top of the difficult time. Prayers also is very helpful. Support of friends near and far really helps as well.

My Summer Babe, Maggie, Molly and myself highly recommends this book not only for animal lovers but readers who fight and not lost hope. You can survive just like Emmi.

When Barbara, and her husband, Ray, decide it's time to foster another dog, they have no idea what they're getting into. Dog-Ma: the Zen of Slobber (Dog-Ma Book 1)

Barbara's vivid and dramatic stories, told with a wicked sense of humor, will make you laugh out loud. She definitely gets what living with rescued dogs (nine of them!) is all about.

When Barbara meets her future husband, Ray, it is love-and dog-at first sight. Over the course of thirty-two years, seventeen relocations and nine dogs, their mutual love of dogs guides them on their unconventional path. The love that Barbara and Ray get in return is literally lifesaving, with one dog attacking a lethal intruder and another discovering Barbara’s cancer. Her own survival story underscores the story of how her dogs become survivors themselves.

Each new dog adds its own dynamic to the family, sometimes upending it. From Turbo (whose Spock-like ears may have provided super powers), Barbara learns about the will to live; Lexington demonstrates incredible patience and an inexplicable love of golf; Madison teaches that laughter is truly the best medicine and that the whole “nine lives thing” is not reserved just for cats; Morgan should be sainted for tolerating Izzy, who is as cute as she is bad. Barbara is certain that somewhere in doggie heaven there is a poster that says “If you are sick, injured or in need of really expensive medical care, FIND THESE HUMANS!”
